Define the cone of your burn: it will allow you greater control over the glazes.
How fast or slow you rise in the last 100ºC of the burn determines the temperature at which the glazes will mature. If in the last 100ºC you go up very fast, you will need to reach a higher temperature to obtain the same result as going up slower.
BURNING TIME in the last 100ºC for cone 7:
100 minutes / 100ºC = 1239 ºC
(If it takes 100 minutes to reach the last 100ºC, cone 7 will bend at 1239ºC)
40 minutes / 100ºC = 1257 ºC
(If it takes 40 minutes to reach the last 100ºC, cone 7 will double at 1257ºC)
For this reason it is not enough to know at what temperature you burn, but it is also necessary to determine how many minutes it takes in the last hundred degrees. The difference is big.
In the Intensive Enamel Course we delve into the burning curves to achieve optimal results.
